Rose Treloar is a Sydney-based screenwriter, playwright, and actor. Her writing is character-driven and explores deep themes of close personal relationships, often blending drama with sharp, dark humour. She creates stories that interrogate moral dilemmas while entertaining audiences with wit and emotional truth.
Her stage work includes Watch Me Sleep (nominated Best in Theatre, Sydney Fringe 2024, accepted into 2026 NYC Fringe Festival) and MOTEL (premiering Sydney Fringe 2025}. Her screen work includes The Rules (Arizona International Film Festival 2024}.
Rose trained as an actor at the Actors Centre Australia and is currently completing her MFA in Dramatic Writing at NIDA. She has extensive stage experience, and her dual background as performer and writer sharpens her instinct for dialogue, character, and rhythm. As an emerging Australian writer, Rose is committed to bold, intimate storytelling that lands with grit and heart, sparking conversation while honouring the messy contradictions that make us human.
