HotHouse Theatre is embarking on an exciting new chapter and invites bold, imaginative creative leaders from across Australia to express their interest in shaping the future of one of the country’s most community-connected regional theatre companies – and helping to shape the cultural landscape of regional Australia.
HotHouse Theatre is particularly interested in leaders who champion storytelling, participation, community engagement, inclusivity, innovation, and equity – and who are passionate about reimagining the possibilities of theatre within a regional setting.

Casting call
About the Project: A three-minute advertisement blends heartfelt moments with light comedic beats. It follows a main character, the Griffin Donor, witnessing the magic of theatre come to life—from the writer’s room to rehearsals and finally to the stage. Primarily voice-over, the main character will mostly be reacting to their surroundings.
Role Details:
- Donor: Represent the emotional journey of every theatre supporter—curiosity evolving into wonder and joy. This role embodies the connection between the arts and its patrons. We prefer this role to have screen acting experience. Age Range: 40–60 Gender: Female (presenting)
- Donor’s Partner: A charming, distracted presence adding light-heartedness to the donor’s story. Age Range: 40–60 Gender: All genders
