A graduate of NIDA, Stephen is one of Australia’s leading design practitioners and educators with over 40 years of industry experience as a production designer in film, theatre, and as a teacher and mentor.
Stephen’s awards include the Australian Production Design Guild (APDG)’s 2018 Cameron Creswell Award for Outstanding Contribution to Design, the Helpmann Award for Best Costume Design for Der Ring des Nibelungen, and the Green Room Award for Best Design for Lulu. Stephen is the author of Staging Ideas: Set and Costume Design for Theatre (2014) and is a Director of the APDG.
