Planning your visit

Location & timing

NIDA’s customised workshops can take place at NIDA (Kensington or Melbourne campuses) or at your school in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Northern Territory, Australian Capital Territory and Tasmania.

Additional travel fees apply for all workshops that take place at venues located further than 25 kilometres from Sydney or Melbourne CBD.

During NSW school holiday periods, NIDA (Kensington) is only able to offer one-hour workshops before 10am or after 4pm. See NSW school holiday dates. During these times NIDA talks are not available.

The Melbourne campus may not be available during Victorian school holiday periods.

Class size

Our maximum class size is limited to:

  • 16 people for a Screen Acting class
  • 10 people for a Staging/Entertainment workshop
  • 25 people for all other workshops

If your group consists of more than 25 students, please contact the Schools Manager to discuss further.

Getting to NIDA

What to bring to NIDA

  • Wear loose-fitting comfortable clothing that you can move in.
  • Wear closed-toed shoes. This is a WHS requirement.
  • Bring a pen and paper or electronic device for note-taking during class.
  • Bring a bottle of water.

Video recording & photography

Schools are welcome to take photographs of students participating in the workshop and film the work students create as part of the workshop. Schools are not permitted to film the tutor or the workshop in its entirety.

NIDA may photograph your group and publish these images in marketing materials and/or social media. Please notify NIDA when you make your booking if you do not wish your group to be photographed for this purpose.
