Planning your visit

Location and timing

NIDA customised workshops can take place at NIDA (Kensington Campus) or at your school in NSW, VIC, QLD, SA, NT, ACT, WA and TAS. Additional travel fees apply for all workshops that take place at venues located further than 25km from the Sydney CBD.

During NSW school holiday periods NIDA is only able to offer one hour workshops between the hours of 9am and 10am or 4pm and 5pm at the Kensington Campus. See NSW school holiday dates. During these times NIDA talks are not available.

Class size

Our maximum class size is limited to:

  • 16 people for a Screen Acting class
  • 10 people for a Staging/Entertainment Workshop
  • 25 people for all other workshops

If your group consists of more than 25 students, please contact the Schools Manager to discuss further.

What to bring to NIDA

  • Wear loose fitting comfortable clothing that you can move in.
  • Wear closed toed shoes. This is a WHS requirement.
  • Bring a pen and paper or electronic device for note taking during class.
  • Bring a bottle of water.

Video Recording and Photography

Schools are welcome to take photographs of your students participating in the workshop and video the work students create as part of the workshop. Schools are not permitted to video the tutor or record the workshop in its entirety. 

NIDA may photograph your group and publish these images in marketing materials and/or social media. Please notify NIDA when you make your booking if you do not wish your group to be photographed for this purpose.
