About Mali
Mali is a passionate and dedicated theatrical practitioner who is Sydney-based. After discovering a strong interest in the technical and production elements of live performance, she came to NIDA to broaden her knowledge and skills.
At NIDA, Mali has developed worked on a range of productions including lighting designing When the Rain Stops Falling and has developed a passion for all things lighting, loving both the design elements and the technical realisation of lighting within a production.
Mali sought to extend her knowledge through a variety of external productions, including as Head Electrician on Catch Me If You Can, Kasama Kita as Lighting Associate and working as Venue Manager/Lighting Operator for the 2020 Adelaide Fringe Season at the Box in the Garden of Unearthly Delights.
Mali is interested in continuing to broaden her knowledge into festival and live event spaces, and in 2019/2020 undertook a secondment on Sydney New Year’s Eve, within production management.
Mali looks forward to continuing to explore lighting and management in a range of contexts post NIDA.
