About Madeline
Born in Melbourne and raised between China and Australia, Madeline grew up with aspirations of becoming a writer. It was when she was cast, at age 12, to play the role of Tin Man in her middle school production of The Wizard of Oz that her interest turned to acting.
Attending international schools throughout much of her upbringing, Madeline found a strong sense of community through theatre, and she remained committed to this passion during her schooling. In 2019, she was invited to perform her Theatre Studies monologue as part of the VCE Top Class showcase. She then spent a year pursuing a degree in Creative Writing and History under scholarship at the University of Melbourne before being accepted into NIDA in 2021.
During her time at NIDA, Madeline has relished in the opportunity to discover and challenge her artistic tastes, developing a love for screen while further honing her skills in theatre. She looks forward to immersing herself in new and exciting projects, writing and developing work of her own, and hopes to contribute to the expansion of diverse narratives in film and theatre.
