Rita cannot hold her son. Tony does jigsaw puzzles and counts his wife’s breaths. Elliot must face up to who he is. Farrah is forced to reconnect with a painful past long forgotten. Annie learns to feel again. And Stefan feels nothing.
Stay Happy, Keep Smiling, by Bruntwood Prize-winning young English playwright Anna Jordan, is a heart racing exploration of the impact of trauma and the coping mechanisms we employ. Jordan’s writing is direct and her sharp dramatic scenes build in intensity and revelation.
