NIDA acknowledges the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands on which we learn and tell stories, the Bidjigal, Gadigal, Dharawal and Dharug peoples, and we pay our respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders past and present.
Vinay Matta is an Indian/Kiwi screenwriter based in Sydney. He focuses on comedy and writing funny, stupid shit with heart. His work revolves around redemption, being a cowboy, and taking the piss out of the mistakes we make in life.
Right now, he is currently the assistant to writer, director and producer Jeremy Sims and will shadow him next year on Royal Flying Doctor Service and his next feature The Making of Liam Black.
The world is abundant with grief and sadness and Vinay’s goal is to continue to make work that makes us realise we shouldn’t take ourselves so goddamn seriously.
