NIDA acknowledges the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands on which we learn and tell stories, the Bidjigal, Gadigal, Dharawal and Dharug peoples, and we pay our respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders past and present.
Jessica Bentley was born in Fiji to a Samoan mother and British father. Beginning her life in the arts as a dancer, training at Brent St. and entering the industry as a commercial dancer, she always dreamed of being an actor.
Prior to commencing at NIDA, she performed as a back-up dancer for Australian Artist Christina Sorbello, touring with Kelly Rowland, Akon and PitBull. Following that tour, she travelled to Mumbai to perform as a tap dancer with Aamir Khan in the Bollywood film Dhoom 3.
Upon her return to Australia, she joined the Australian tour of The Outback Aussie Show. After securing an acting job through her dance agent she decided to take the leap, move to New York and begin classes at a studio in Chelsea. She was instantly hooked.
