About Sophie
Sophie is a Sydney-based practitioner who is passionate about stage management for musical theatre, opera and plays. She is interested in working collaboratively to tell engaging stories that immerse, entertain, move and challenge both audiences and artists, as well as new and existing works that push the visual boundary.
She is proud to have worked with German director Robert Shuster and Australian directors Michael Gow, Deborah Pollard, Mark Gaal, and Kate Gaul while at NIDA. She has also collaborated with Sydney Theatre Company and the Sydney Conservatorium of Music during NIDA’s 2021 production seasons. She is extremely grateful for the skills she has gained across management, technical systems, technical design and academia. This has allowed her to deepen her roots as a stage manager, become a well-rounded practitioner and given her the skills to undertake tasks outside of the stage management industry.
Upon graduating, Sophie aims to establish herself as a stage manager across a diverse range of genres and styles, working with Sydney’s emerging and established theatre companies. She is drawn to technically complex and performance driven comedies, dramas, epics, horror, intimate storytelling, and everything in-between. She also aims to gain experience touring nationally and internationally.
