NIDAnights is a calendar of monthly events including workshops, masterclasses, performances and roundtables, presented in partnership with change-makers in the creative ecosystem of Melbourne – in good surrounds, with good company and over good wine.
When we have no time to pause, we have no time to play.Utilising concepts from improvisation games, theatre olympics, play science and game design, this workshop will show you how you can rethink and redesign what you do using the power of play.
Peril Magazine co-presents an evening of poetry and spoken word, featuring six Melbournian poets and spoken word artists who explore where we are in the world as a society, as artists and as individuals. The evening will involve a spoken word ‘treasure hunt’ of sorts: each poet will read somewhere in or around the arts precinct, and each reading will leave us with a clue as to where to find the next artist.
Curated by Experimenta Media Arts in collaboration with NIDA, this Experimenta Social special looks at how artists are using technology in performance. Technology is transforming traditional approaches to the craft of scenography and is also opening up new pathways for audience engagement.
Understanding the forms, processes and ecosystems in nature can inform how we learn and interact in our work environment by creating sustainable creative practitioners and arts workers. With the aid of live animals, we will investigate how we can take models from our Australian ecosystem and apply them to our artistic practice and cultural landscape.
