'I know you’re both enjoying the views this evening. “Enjoying”, might be the wrong word.'
The rooftop of the local hospital – smack bang in the middle of a town called Misery. It's the kind of rugged, unassuming rooftop heroes stand on at the beginning of action films, or criminals frequent to inject heroin into their eyeballs. Tonight, it's also the place people come to die. Eric, Dot and Shaun have accidentally chosen the same spot on the same night, and it's time to decide who gets to go through with their plan.
Enter Jessica, who bypasses said debate and desperately jumps over the ledge. She doesn't get far, when our unlikely heroes catch her by the ankle and haul her back onto the rooftop. Now she's been saved — and experiences a perspective shift, the likes of which this group have never seen. Destiny has brought them together to help each other. To save each other.
Carking it is a new Australian work and a dark comedy.
