Gabriel was born in Los Angeles to a pair of kiwis who each possessed the customary Australasian wanderlust. As such, it wasn’t long before he’d lived in Vancouver, New Zealand and North Carolina; finally settling in Perth, Western Australia. As far back as he can remember, Gabriel would immerse himself in stories and characters, he practically lived in superhero costumes for the first few years of his life. If he had to wear normal clothes, then it was a ‘Peter Parker Day’.
Growing up, he maintained this love for storytelling, whether through fantasy and sci-fi novels, sneaking out of school to explore the riverbanks or writing stories of his own. As he got older, he continued to explore, hiking to Everest Base Camp in Nepal, and bartending in the Greek Islands. Amid all this, he found acting. Unexpectedly cast as a principal role in his first musical, he fell in love with the work, immersing himself in the world and character.
He pursued this in a Diploma of Music Theatre at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) in 2020. Then on to NIDA, learning to meld passion with technique in the exploration and inhabitation of roles. He eagerly anticipates the opportunity to carry these skills into the industry and continue to hone them.
