Laurence Boxhall

Having spent his childhood moving between England and Germany, Laurence emigrated with his family to Australia in 2006.
Laurence made his television debut in 2013’s ABC3/CBBC co-production Worst Year of My Life, Again in one of the three lead roles as Simon Birch. He has since had a supporting role in Foxtel’s Deadline Gallipoli in 2014 as Jimmy Paradise (Dir. Michael Rymer), a lead in ABC’s Ronny Chieng: International Student for the 2016 pilot and again as 2017 series antagonist Daniel Tremblay-Birchall (Dir. Jonathan Brough) as well as Channel 9’s Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation in 2018 as the Generation Z Captain.
Laurence made his mainstage debut in 2015’s Jumpy (Dir. Pamela Rabe) for the Melbourne Theatre Company/Sydney Theatre Company and his feature film debut in 2015’s Spirit of the Game. He has since played Dave in the acclaimed 2018 web series Dave & Theo (Dir. David Hoey and Nicholas Burton).
Whilst at NIDA, Laurence undertook the Classical Theatre elective across second and third year.
In his spare time, Laurence is an accomplished magician, enjoys photography and playing his ukulele.
Laurence returned to the MTC in 2019 to play Sam in Shakespeare in Love (Dir. Simon Phillips) and filmed a second season of Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation.
