Nicole knew from a very young age that she wanted to pursue a creative career after being exposed to The Phantom of the Opera, Cats and Wicked. These magical worlds mesmerised Nicole with their fairytale-like costumes and over-the-top sets.
Prior to her studies at NIDA, Nicole completed an Advanced Diploma for Live Entertainment, Theater and Production at Enmore Design Centre. While there she studied set and costume design, graphic design, web design and special effects make-up. Through this wide array of skills Nicole realised her love for costume design and garment construction, thankful to have a strong foundation in many skills that influence this chosen field.
Nicole came to NIDA to gain and refine her technical skills, enthusiastic to learn how to create garments to a high standard. NIDA has allowed Nicole to gain skills in pattern making, draping, shoe making, costume supervising, laser cutting and corsetry. It was through NIDA and her design background that her love and devotion towards embellishment and embroidery came through. Nicole has focused heavily on studying embellishment and embroidery techniques throughout her studies at NIDA, with a strong passion for using technology to create new forms of embellishment.
Nicole looks forward to pursuing a career in embellishment, costume making and supervising.
