Gayda De Mesa
Gayda has always had a keen interest in the arts and live performance. She completed a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science at the University of Sydney in 2012, majoring in Psychology and Performance Studies. In her time there she was heavily involved in managing the clubs and societies program for the student union and was an active member of the Sydney University Dramatic Society and the Revues program. It was through this involvement that her passion for live performance production was reignited.
Gayda came to the NIDA to further develop her stage management and technical skills within live production. Through her time at NIDA, she has had the opportunity to work and collaborate with some of the leading practitioners in the industry and also to increase her skills in both management and as a designer. In addition to this, Gayda has toured as the technical manager for the Sydney University Queer Revue, a part of the MIDSUMMA Festival, and has been the lighting and sound designer for The Midwife (2014), and Unend (2015), a part of the Sydney Fringe Festival.
Gayda is looking forward to working within the industry, being involved in theatre, festivals and events.
