Whilst gaining a Bachelor of Arts (Theatre and Performance Studies/Women and Gender Studies) from UNSW, Jacqueline developed a keen interest in transforming a production and performer through costuming. She was able to hone and focus her skills further at NIDA by gaining experience in costume history, women’s period cutting, draping, men’s tailoring, corsetry, millinery, leatherwork, and shoe making. These skills have allowed Jacqueline to become a more discerning costumier with the possibility of pursuing a number of varied roles.
Jacqueline has particularly enjoyed the hands-on role of costume supervisor which allows her to work closely with designers and makers to achieve an aesthetic statement through costuming. Jacqueline has relished the opportunities at NIDA; learning from industry professionals and working on the television biopic Peter Allen: Not the Boy Next Door, through her secondment. Jacqueline hopes to further advance her costume experiences by traveling and working overseas.
