Originally from Melbourne, Gemma was fortunate enough to be exposed to plenty of art and theatre from a young age. After work experience at Malthouse Theatre in her teens, she settled on the decision that a life in theatre was it. After school, Gemma undertook a Certificate IV in Live Production, Theatre and Events which allowed her to become immersed behind the scenes, especially in lighting.
Her proudest accomplishments at NIDA are running a high voltage Jacob’s Ladder effect off wireless DMX, and making a 14-metre wide, rear projected flown canvas wall (including several working doors). She’s infinitely grateful for the support of her family, friends and tutors over the past three years.
