Dann Barber


Prior to commencing his studies at NIDA, Dann received a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in drawing from RMIT University, Melbourne. This culminated with his major work being shown in the NotFair Primal Mutation exhibition at Thousand Pound Bend in 2012, and again in the 2013 group show Black and White at Blockprojects. Whilst in Melbourne, Dann co-founded a fringe theatre company, What Just Happened, performing Features of Blown Youth (2009) and The Logue of P.T. Lawrence (2010) at the Arts Centre, Melbourne.

In his time at NIDA, Dann has co-designed the set and costumes for Klutz, co-production designed Willow’s music video No Sound for triple j Unearthed, designed both set and costumes for The False Servant, as well as designed the set for the graduating production of The Light in the Piazza, directed by Roger Hodgman. 2014 has seen Dann collaborate again with Benjamin Schostakowski on his Brisbane seasons of A Tribute of Sorts (QTC) and Klutz (Brisbane Festival/QUT).
