Anna Porcaro

Anna has always been intrigued with the aesthetic qualities of film and dance, in particular, the costumes. Upon discovering that this was a possible career path, she ventured into the arts with vigour. After graduating from high school, Anna completed a Certificate IV in Costume for Performance at the Adelaide College of the Arts where she was exposed to the delightful world of theatre. Working as a maker and dresser for the dance piece Worldhood, a collaboration between Australian Dance Theatre and AC Arts in 2011, reinforced her passion.

Being a part of the creative microcosm that is NIDA has allowed Ann a to grow and explore as a maker in all the different facets of costume. She completed a secondment at The Australian Ballet, which was an invaluable experience. Her biggest highlight has been working on productions as costume supervisor and collaborating with such passionate and inspiring peers. Ann a is incredibly excited about being involved in a craft that celebrates visual storytelling and aspires to further her skills in all things costume.
