Thomas Pidd has spent the last 12 years spreading himself around many different areas of the performing arts industry. Originating from Tasmania he found a solid footing in the theatre scene in Hobart performing in everything from Shakespeare and play, to musicals, with Old Nick, Hobart Rep, Tasmanian Theatre Trust and Exit Left. Eventually Thomas started to find work professionally through TVCs (Mystate, RT Tasmania) short films and voice over (The Mercury, Betta Milk, State Government Projects).
Seeking a fresh start, Thomas packed his car and drove across to WA. Here he put his pursuit of acting on hold working in mineral exploration drilling, and getting the chance to work all over WA and Victoria. In 2011 Thomas then hung out in Perth, completing a TVC (RT WA) and short films (The Wake, One Click, Doubles), then he completed the Annie Stainer Total Theatre workshop before being accepted into NIDA for 2012.
While acting for the stage is Thomas’ strength, he has taken a keen interest in producing and editing for film, and in the last five years has strengthened a keen interest in physical theatre, dance and circus art which he is looking forward to investigating further upon graduating.
