Work experience

Thank you to everyone who expressed interest in our 2021 Work Experience Program.

Sadly, due to the continued uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, NIDA has made the difficult decision to suspend our Work Experience program for 2021.

The health and safety of our staff, students, and visitors is our greatest priority. As a registered COVID-Safe business with the NSW Government, we have maintained restrictions and are operating under a limited capacity.

After suspending our Work Experience program in 2020, we had hoped that we would be able to run Work Experience in 2021. Welcoming students from across NSW and the country to observe and participate in classes and productions has always been a highlight of our year.

We will keep our Work Experience page updated with any developments regarding Work Experience opportunities for 2022 and beyond.

NIDA offers courses in a wide variety of professions that are involved in the theatre, film and TV.

Our work experience program offers interested year 10 and 11 students the chance to spend a week with us at NIDA to observe and, where possible, participate in classes.

Our programs will not only give you a taste of what it’s like to study at NIDA but also an opportunity to see what skills and tasks the career you are thinking about involves.

Please note that all work experience is held at NIDA, Kensington in Sydney.

NIDA does not run work experience for Acting.
