Artist in Residence
Legs on the Wall
The Sydney based company, Legs on the Wall, a leader and innovator in out-door physical theatre, has recently been appointed as NIDA’s Artist in Residence for 2010. The residency has been designed to engage students across all disciplines in the practical exploration of physical theatre through workshops, culminating in a major out-door, site specific production of Peter Handke's The Hour We Knew Nothing of Each Other.

The Mark Twain You Don't Know

The Mark Twain You Don’t Know is an edgy, provocative and entirely unexpected one-man show by American-born Melbourne actor, Chris Wallace. Beginning in Ballarat in 2004, it has charmed and challenged audiences around Australia and travelled to Los Angeles in June 2009.

The Producers

Presended by St Aloysius' College. The Producers is populated with colourful characters and enlivened with witty songs filled with irreverent cultural references. With a plot of crass and obvious stereotypes, Mel Brooks’ musical masterpiece seeks to offend all equally. For the first time in Australia, a student cast and orchestra will present The Producers. EDGES is a new musical song cycle written and composed by the 2007 Jonathon Larson Award recipients Benj Pasek and Justin Paul which intimately follows the journeys of four burgeoning young adults as they experience and find ways to overcome a number of universally classic 'coming of age' questions and life events. Born in Chile they all play six string acoustic and electric guitar, bass and also use their instruments as percussion and vocal beat box. One minute they play in unison, the next in harmony, then across and against each other, it is calm then chaotic, beautiful then forceful. March 27 8pm, Parade Playhouse.

Short+Sweet Dance

Exciting new dance works from over 35 Independent choreographers. Energetic, Inspiring, Daring, and Quirky... and that's just the first 10 mins!

Wild World

At the height of his career in the mid 1970’s, Cat Stevens, discontent with the excesses of fame and fortune, abandoned the music business. In Wild World, the musical journey of Cat Stevens is traced from his teenage years in the West End of London, through his traumatic illness and explosive successes, to his near drowning and subsequent conversion to Islam. Through words and music, you will be taken on a journey that was the Cat Stevens legend. April 16, 17 8pm.
