Does Your School Have a Story to Tell? Each year Wakakirri searches for the best stories created by Australian Primary and Secondary schools. Wakakirri is a National Festival that celebrates learning via the creation and sharing of stories. Schools create stories using dance, creative movement, acting, song, and film.

Peter Baynes Memorial Scholarship Event

The late Peter Baynes was formerly Technical Manager at NIDA and sadly died a few years ago after a short battle with cancer. In his memory, his wife Kari established the Peter Baynes Memorial Scholarship. It honours Peter’s contribution to the industry and aims to continue to enhance industry expertise, by funding a third year NIDA Production student to undertake a secondment to New York.

Honchos Meeting in Cowra

This wonderful collaboration between Australian and Japanese theatre celebrates the 70th anniversary of the Cowra breakout in which two hundred and thirty four Japanese prisoners and four Australian soldiers died, and is proudly supported by the Japanese Government's Agency for Cultural Affairs.
