Dear <~~First~~>,
NIDA’s 50th anniversary year is rapidly drawing to a close and what a wonderful year we have had! There have been opportunities to celebrate the magnificent achievements of the past but also to signpost the many new directions of future NIDA. It is crucial that NIDA continues to evolve to meet the needs of a rapidly changing arts and entertainment industry and to enhance our position as a leader in Australia's cultural and innovation infrastructure.
Central to this idea is NIDA’s vision to develop the future leaders and agents for change in the arts and entertainment industry. Each year we select a new cohort of students who are bursting with talent and ideas and it is our role to nurture this creativity and passion in a way that challenges students to become inventors and initiators. Our training needs to develop extraordinary skill within as many different performance contexts as possible and enrich creative practice through collaboration with a broad range of disciplines – not only artists but technologists, scientists and engineers. There is a very exciting future for the dramatic arts and we are confident that NIDA graduates will be driving innovation both here in Australia and internationally.
We are looking forward to maintaining the momentum of the anniversary year into the future and invite all of our friends and supporters to share this future with us.
See you at NIDA for an equally inspiring 2010!
Best Wishes,
Lynne Williams. Director/CEO |

THE ROAD | WIN ONE OF TEN DOUBLE PASSES
The Road is the long anticipated adaptation of the 2007 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Cormac McCarthy (No Country For Old Men). A post-apocalyptic tale, The Road describes a journey taken by a father and his young son over a period of several months across a landscape blasted years before by an unnamed cataclysm that destroyed civilization and, seemingly, most life on earth.
Starring Viggo Mortensen and Kodi Smit-McPhee, under the direction of Australian director John Hillcoat, and with a soundtrack supplied by the brilliant Nick Cave & Warren Ellis, this film is a synergy of moving storytelling and exhilarating cinema. Thanks to Icon Films we have 10 double passes to offer when The Road releases nationally on January 28.

THE FRENCH KISSERS | WIN ONE OF FIVE DOUBLE PASSES
The comedy sensation of this year’s Cannes Film Festival, THE FRENCH KISSERS [MA] is the hilarious tale of a pair of friends who are far removed from the cool crowd, as they suffer the endless embarrassments and minor triumphs of adolescence.
Fresh and smart, with a great soundtrack by FLAIRS, this brilliant coming-of-age comedy will have you laughing out loud as you reminisce the good, bad and ugly of teen years gone by. This debut feature from graphic artist Riad Sattouf was the box office smash of the French summer, and hits Australian cinemas from Boxing Day.
