In 1998 a college student was kidnapped, severely beaten, and left to die tied to a fence in the outskirts of Laramie, Wyoming.

Matthew Shepard, the victim, was white, beautiful - and gay.

The Laramie Project documents the aftermath of this savage killing. Based on over 200 interviews conducted with the inhabitants of Laramie - from close friends to fundamentalist protestors - this is a moving story of the town, its people, and how they reacted to this tragedy.

The Laramie Project was written through a unique collaboration by Tectonic Theatre Project. Moises Kaufman and members of the company travelled to Laramie six times to conduct interviews. The play opened in Denver in 200 and was also performed later in the year in Laramie, two years after Kaufman and his associates first arrived in the city.

Graduating student production.

Please note this production contains strong adult themes - parental guidance is recommended.
