THE DIRECTOR

For 18 years + selected by interview.

For those interested in either stage or screen, this course develops skills and confidence for leading a creative team, motivating a company of performers, and inspiring audiences.  Applications for The Director starting in July 2008 are now open.  Interviews will be held on 5 July 2008.

The course may be of particular interest to Drama teachers who wish to develop their directing proficiency with young people. The course covers the director's role and responsibilities, principles of effective storytelling and characterization and working with other creative roles - designers, writers, choreographers, composers.

Planning, communication and production skills are also developed. This studio will particularly focus on selection of material, developing a concept and ways of working with actors through the rehearsal process.

FEES

The total course cost for 2008 is $2,100 inc. GST payable over 3 instalments of $700

Fees must be paid in advance with a commitment to continue the course for the duration. There will be no refund of fees once the term commences.
