Anton Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard
The estate of an aristocratic family is hopelessly in debt. Urged to cut down their beautiful cherry orchard and sell the land for holiday cottages, they appear to be incapable of decisive action. A dying Chekhov wrote this humorous masterpiece; evolving through naturalism and impressionism to something much more modern. Comic and tragic - and continually breaking rules - The Cherry Orchard can be argued to be the first of the Absurdists.
Performed by Second Year Actors. Designed, lit and stage-managed by Third Year Design and Production Students.
