TEACHING VOICE

For 20 years + selected by interview.

A half-year part-time course, led by Bill Pepper, Head of Voice Studies at NIDA, for professional teachers who want an introduction to safe and creative ways to coach, teach and direct young voices.

The course will develop participants' understanding of how the voice works and develop methods of teaching and using the voice in relation to language, speech and dramatic texts. Participants must be at least 20 years old and should be teachers of voice, speech, drama, music, entertainment or English language. Opportunities will be available to observe some NIDA classes and productions.

Voice, language, speech and text, teaching methods

14 Feb - 28 June 2008

TIMES

Thursday 6.30 pm - 9.30 pm and Saturday, 10.00am - 1.00pm.

FEES

The total course cost for 2008 is $2,250 including GST, payable over 3 instalments of $750.

Fees must be paid in advance with a commitment to continue the course for the duration. There is no refund of fees once the term commences.

APPLICATIONS

Applications for 2008 intake are now open.

Entry is by interview only. Please learn and prepare one Shakespeare sonnet to present and discuss. The decision of the interview panel is final.

All applicants are given an interview.
