Springboard Two
2010 Applications now closed.
Launched in 2009, the Springboard Initiative was developed to provide recent NIDA graduates with the opportunity to produce a theatrical event as a springboard into the entertainment industry.
Presently, the Initiative is open to graduating students and those who have graduated in the preceding two years.
The process works on a similar basis to professional theatre companies providing opportunities for emerging artists. Applicants are invited to submit a project in accordance with specific selection criteria. After short-listing, the applicants move through an interview process to determine the winning proposal.
In the spirit of collaboration and opportunity, each submission must be made on the basis that the production will be mounted exclusively by NIDA graduates and so will involve the collaboration of graduates from the directing, acting, design, production and production crafts courses. For 2010, some concessions have been made in regards to the availability of NIDA technical and acting graduates.
The winning company is provided with access to a NIDA Theatre space for a 2 week performance period, rehearsal space, limited marketing and publicity support and a small production budget.
Our 2010 winner(s) will also receive a three hour marketing and PR consultation with Tsuki as part of the package worth $2,000.
