Theatre Production Celebrate the National Year of Reading at NIDA
Mr Chicken Goes to Paris By Leigh Hobbs Adapted for the stage by Kellie Mackereth
Come abroad with the riotous Mr. Chicken as he tours the magnifique sights of Paris with his friend Yvette!
Paris becomes a city of magic for Mr. Chicken as he discovers if he has what it takes to navigate the perils of flying economy, travelling on the Metro and learning a foreign language. But what will the Parisians make of Yvette’s enormous fowl friend? Will this top-hatted tourist become the most astonishing spectacle of all?
Especially designed for Primary school students, this joyful production explores themes of friendship and belonging.
After the show, the cast and crew will return to the stage to answer questions from the audience and reveal the creative process of adapting a picture book for the stage.
'The world's most beautiful city meets the world's most startling chicken... Not since Quasimodo has Paris been host to a monster of such charm.’ Sonya Hartnett
