Members of the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts (HKAPA) are visiting NIDA from 4 – 9 June 2007 to stage Di Nu Hua (Princess Changping). This modern adaptation of a traditional Chinese legend tells the love story of an ill-fated couple who pays the tragic price for their marriage during the Ming Dynasty.
"The tour will give Sydney audiences the opportunity to see senior HKAPA students in a contemporary interpretation of a Chinese classic and to experience methods and techniques of Chinese theatre performance." Director of NIDA, Aubrey Mellor OAM
This production first premiered at this year’s 6th Chinese Drama Festival in Hong Kong.
The production will be in Cantoneses with English subtitles
