Part-time courses are available at NIDA for those who would like to undertake an educational experience with a small number of participants over a sustained period of time in order to develop specific skills. Applications are now open for 2009 part-time courses including The Actor, The Screen Actor, Event Management, Singer Dancer Actor, The Presenter, Young Actors Studio (Sydney, Brisbane & Melbourne), Drama Studio, The Director, Teaching Voice, The Technical Operator (Certificate IV) and Young Theatre Makers (Certificate III). NIDA Open Program congratulates The Actor 2008 student Daniel Ewing who has recently secured the centrol role of Dillon in the Power Rangers series being shot in New Zealand for Disney, also Young Actors Studio allumni Lucinda Shaw who has the starring role in the Australian production of Monty Python's Spamalot.
Singer Dancer Actor is a full-time year-long course in music theatre, held in the evenings and on weekends throughout the year. Applications for auditions/interviews close on 12 November 2008 for Singer Dancer Actor and on 26 November 2008 for all other courses. The application fee for all part-time courses is $22.00 (excepting Singer Dancer Actor which is $60.00). Complete an application form and send it to NIDA Open Program with the application fee, your resume and a paragraph explaining why you would like to do the course. If you apply online bring your resume and paragraph to your interview/audition.
