THE SCREEN ACTOR

For 18 years + selected by audition.

Specialist NIDA tutors and industry guests introduce you to essential skills for acting to camera and develop your personal screen presence for film, television and other media.

You will build vocal, physical and interpretive skills and gain in-depth experience of characterisation, scene work and the actor's filming experience, both in the studio and on location. Each term concludes with a practical presentation of your work.

Term 1:

Screen acting skills: voice, movement, characterisation, scenework, different theories of acting

Term 2:

Australian scene work for film and television

Term 3:

International scene work for film and television and action on camera

Term 4:

Working with a director, auditions and screen tests

FEES

The total course cost for 2010 is $3,975 inc. GST.  Fees payable over 5 instalments of $775.

Fees must be paid in advance. There is no refund of fees once the term commences.

APPLICATIONS

The audition will involve improvised exercises and a short script which you will be sent once you apply. Please wear comfortable clothing to the audition. All applicants are given an audition. The decision of the audition panel is final.

Complete an application form and send it to NIDA Open Program with the application fee ($22), your resume, a passport size photograph and a paragraph explaining why you would like to do this course.
