EVENT MANAGEment18 years and over Examine the role of the event manager from a practical perspective. A strong focus is on the project management of events and on developing production skills. Two projects are included during the course to ensure practical experience in working on events. Term 1 Technical production and event staging: students develop practical skills in stage craft and technical production areas. The term covers lighting, audio, staging, bump-in and bump-out, risk management and on-site event management services. The term culminates in a two day mini project, utilising the skills acquired during the term. Event One Monday 5 September and Tuesday 6 September, 10am to 5pm. A mini production to put into practice technical and staging skills developed in Term 1. Students collaborate with industry professionals for the two days. Term 2 Developing an event concept and planning an event; includes reading an event brief, resourcing event requirements, schedules, marketing strategies, budgets, managing the event and pitching an event. Event Two Half of the second term is spent in the planning and preparation of an end of year event to be held at NIDA on Sunday 27 November. Dates & Times Saturdays, 10.00am-5.00pm
