Dear <~~First~~>,
NIDA students are busy preparing for the Spring play season. The Second Year production of The Kitchen by Sir Arnold Wesker is well into rehearsals and the opening night is 25 September. This will be the first performance of this play in Australia and it will be an exciting production. The Kitchen is a biting satire which features a mix of cultures, customers and clients and is all set in the kitchen of a restaurant.
Don’t miss the final opportunity to see the graduating actors of 2008 at NIDA in a season of three international plays from 2- 18 October:
Days of Significance by Roy Williams, directed by Kate Gaul. An Australian premiere of this anti war play from the UK involving a group of young friends dealing with the horrific challenges and consequences of the Iraq war.
The Shape of Things by contemporary American playwright Neil LaBute, directed by David Berthold – this has been a smash hit around the world.
Unidentified Human Remains and the True Nature of Love by Canadian Brad Fraser, directed by Tom Healey - part murder mystery part social satire involving death and identity.
The Nancy Fairfax Foyer is about to be transformed for the annual NIDA Design Exhibition 10-31 October. This exhibition showcases the work of NIDA’s 2008 graduating designers, production and production craft students. Works on display include set and costume designs and period and modern constructions in costume and properties. The exhibition is open from 9-6pm and until 10.30 pm when productions are on. Come in and have a coffee and enjoy the exhibition. |
