CORPORATE TRAINING
GIRLS ON FILM

The graduating directors' choices of six short plays reveal a pre-occupation with strong writing related to the human need to make connections.  In a fragmented world playwrights Ionesco and Koltes try to make intimate connections in The Bald Soprano and In the Solitude of Cotton Fields.

Often the past and memory come to haunt us as we try to connect in the present as in Paula Vogel’s How I Learned to Drive and Tennessee Williams’ This Property is Condemned.

Ironically, in what may seem a tragic perspective, these plays also reveal an odd or even outrageous humour. Drag queens, clown-like characters, and wistful eccentrics abound.

The season runs from 26-29 Nov in the Parade Space.
