After nine years at NIDA, on his retirement as Head of Directing, Helmut Bakaitis answers some questions on behalf of his Lego creation.

Most memorable NIDA experience?
The day The Matrix crew brought the Architect’s chair to NIDA for a fitting.

2. If your life were a theatre act what would it be called?
Lego Kama Sutra.

3. What’s the drama in your life?
Waiting to see if I can become the first lego ‘eventuality of an anomaly’.

4. Favourite spot for pre-theatre dinner?
Action figures don’t eat, don’t need to visit the bathroom but they do have girly nightmares.

5. Most treasured theatrical moment?
Watching Will Ferrell impersonate me at the MTV Awards.

6. What prompts you to act?
Money and a thirst for immortality.

7. Ever been upstaged?
There’s a Lego Darth Vader trying to challenge me to an act-off but he’s the guy I don’t want to mess with!

8. Advice for all budding thespians?
Don’t register with Facebook - they’ll never take you seriously in Eastern European countries.
