Introducing Wendy Strehlow
NIDA Acting Graduate, NIDA Box Office Assistant, and a famous All Saints’ ambulance officer.
Most memorable NIDA experience? Third year at NIDA getting to do a devised show with Geoffrey Rush called Mirth of a Nation and our graduating play Strife by John Galsworthy with George Ogilvie. Both experiences - working with such amazing mentors - transformed me as an actor.
If your life were a theatre act what would it be called? The Overture to something wonderful…
What’s the drama in your life? At this point it’s slapstick comedy!
Favourite spot for pre-theatre dinner? I can’t eat before seeing a show because I like to be able to focus on the performance.
Most treasured theatrical moment? Any moment on stage when the actor I’m working with and myself are truly present and collaborative.
What prompts you to act? I suck at everything else.
Ever been upstaged? What! Are you drunk?
Advice for all budding thespians? Always be willing to give it a go and enjoy the ride. Adapt and overcome!
