LEARNING RESOURCES

NIDA has some useful resources, facilities and services, which may be of assistance to schools, community groups and Open Program students.

NIDA have developed a resource for HSC Drama teachers teaching Australian Drama and Theatre Topic 2: Contemporary Australian Theatre practice.

The resource is based on lectures delivered by Karen Vickery (Theatre Studies Manager NIDA), with detailed notes on each of the four plays as well as interviews with the writer, director and actor from A Beautiful Life and suggested class activities. Cost is $33 including GST and postage.   To order a copy you can contact NIDA Open Program or purchase online at our merchandise page.

In particular, the interactive CD-ROM StageStruck was developed and produced by NIDA as an educational resource for both primary and secondary schools to introduce Australian performing arts to young people. Every primary and secondary school in Australia was sent two free copies of StageStruck in 1999. StageStruck is also a great gift idea for children aged 6 to 16 years.

To order your copy of StageStruck, please refer to our Merchandise page.

NIDA Open Program will develop further learning resources over the next few years. If you have a particular request, please contact the Education Manager Jacqueline Cowell on 02 9697 7511.
