2010 projects & Priorities

In addition to its regular funding priorities, the NIDA Foundation Trust is seeking support for the following projects in 2010:
Concert Grand Piano and Musical Instruments
Musical training and performances are a fundamental part of all actor training at NIDA. In fact NIDA is introducing a specialised musical theatre stream within the Acting degree program in 2011. NIDA’s concert grand piano used for rehearsals, productions and teaching is in serious disrepair. The NIDA Foundation Trust is aiming to raise $50,000 to purchase a new concert grand piano and two new upright pianos, all which are desperately needed to support the musical training needs of NIDA students.
Upgrades to Learning Technologies
Today, the rapid pace of technological change is a major hurdle facing educators, including NIDA, yet is a critical driver of modern and productive learning. Without the NIDA Foundation Trust’s annual $100,000 grant for technology, it would be simply impossible for NIDA to meet the needs of its students and remain a centre of training excellence. This year, the grant will enable NIDA to implement major enhancements, including:
-
Welders, saws, working benches and other equipment for the production crafts stream; ·
-
Moving lights, flat screen monitors and a new wireless system for production students;·
-
New computers, monitors, copiers, scanners and printers for the library; and
-
New instruments, including a Roland keyboard for the music department.
Special Projects
There are always projects in need of funds. NIDA can work with you to find that distinct project you especially want to be a part of.
