Hamlet knows that 'something is rotten', that moral and legal issues are being abused; yet he does not speak out, nor take action. He is torn between his instincts for justice and his wish not to be 'out of step' with the majority. Shakespeare continues to be our contemporary, the themes relevant and global - and Hamlet himself often seems very Australian.
