A comprehensive two-day course examining and developing the skills required to plan and deliver successful presentations
Overview
Become an engaging and persuasive presenter in a variety of situations. Sessions include vocal and physical presence, performance structure and strategy and storytelling techniques, assisting you to relate to small and large audiences and present with impact and confidence. Training is practical, drawn from the best of NIDA performance practice. Support materials will be provided.
Course Components
Put Yourself in the Picture
Video session. Identify and review your presentation style.
The Presenter’s Voice
Develop your voice for effective presentations. Consider energy, projection and vocal variety.
Presentations with Impact
Plan for successful presentations. Engage, involve and inspire your audience. Consider concept, structure and content. Identify obstacles and consider strategies to overcome them.
Reaching Your Audience
Take control of the given elements. Apply strategies to your presentation. Consider storytelling, spontaneity and tactics.
Making an Entrance
Identify how body language contributes to meaningful presentations. Practice techniques to develop physical presence.
Dress Rehearsal
Investigate rehearsal techniques and apply them to a short presentation. Receive advice and guidance.
Presentation as Performance
Present and receive feedback and direction. Outcomes
• Greater confidence when presenting to small and large audiences.
• Identification of individual communication strengths and challenges.
• The ability to use physical and vocal presence to engage and influence your audience.
• Communication strategy and storytelling techniques to support the planning and delivery of successful presentations.
