NIDA is registered as a training organisation. NIDA is able to provide accredited training based on the Entertainment Industry training package. The courses are accredited by the Vocational Education and Training Accreditation Board (VETAB) and successful completion of a training course leads to a nationally recognised qualification. Currently, NIDA is offering CUE30203 Certificate III in Live Production, Theatre and Events (Technical Operations). There are two options available:
- for young people aged 16-20 years part-time for a year on Sundays (Young Theatre Makers Studio)
- a customised program in conjunction with the NSW Department of Education, the NSW Catholic Education Commission and The Association of Independent Schools for high school teachers wishing to teach HSC Entertainment.
NIDA also offers The Technical Operator (Certificate IV in Live Production, Theatre and Events). This courses extends your techinical theatre skills and abilities in lighting, sound and audio-visual operation. This is a great course for those who have completed a Certificate III or who are currently working in the industry but would like to gain recognition of their skills.
The Diploma of Music Theatre is also offered as a year-long accredited course.
