Shine this Summer!
Summer 2008 was a huge success at NIDA with over 1700 people attending. We had students from Japan, Canada, the USA, Sweden, the UK, New Zealand and Austria excited to be part of our world famous Summer Program.

NIDA's Summer Program is the place to meet creative people within the stimulating and supportive environment of Australia's premier performing arts institution. Work wih skilled professionals from the entertainment industry in NIDA's world-class facilities - theatres, sound stage, rehearsal studios and workshops.
A range of courses covering acting, directing, design and technical production caters for those who are serious about training and those who are interested in a recreational experience.
A number of NIDA's award-winning graduates teach with the NIDA Open Program. Just some who have worked with our summer program include: Sam Worthington (Somersault, The Surgeon) and Nathaniel Dean (Walking on Water, Somersault) are highly experienced in the industry as well as excellent teachers. Other tutors include screen directors such as Geoffrey Nottage (director Crash Palace, Water Rats, Flipper) and Peter Andrikidis (director Mary Bryant, Jessica, Black Jack) and actors such as Nicholas Bishop (Home & Away), Wil Traval (All Saints), Caroline Craig (Blue Heelers) and theatre directors and actors such as Jennifer Hagan and Mary-Anne Gifford. Many NIDA staff also teach including Tony Knight, Head of Acting, and Bill Pepper, Head of Voice Studies.
January is summer time in Sydney and NIDA is located close to fabulous Bondi and Coogee beaches. If you're travelling from overseas or from interstate, it's a great chance to enjoy Sydney's sun and surf and nurture your creative talent.
January is also Festival time in Sydney, so check the Sydney Festival program for dance, theatre, music, visual arts, film and outdoor events at www.sydneyfestival.org.au. Discounted tickets to some Sydney Festival shows will be available to Summer Program participants.
Accommodation is available across the road from NIDA in the University of New South Wales' colleges.
